Like there's no crying in baseball, there are no rainouts in beach volleyball. At a cold and rain-drenched WVC Beach Volleyball Complex Friday, the Vikings gained a split against Fresno City and Gavilan in Coast Conference action.

The Vikings (9-5, 7-2 Coast) surfaced with a split, dropping a tight 3-2 opener to the Coast-leading Rams from Fresno City (16-2, 10-0) and sweeping the Rams from Gavilan (0-11, 0-10) 5-0 in a soggy finale.

WVC returns to action Friday (4/5) with a home Spring Break doubleheader against De Anza and College of San Mateo. First serve against the Mountain Lions (6-11, 4-6) is 10:00am, with the afternoon match against the Bulldogs (5-10, 3-6) slated for noon.

Bring your rain jackets and umbrellas!
