West Valley overcame College of San Mateo and De Anza in a pair of crucial Coast Conference matches Friday at the West Valley Beach Volleyball Complex. The twin 3-2 wins improved the Vikings to 11-6 overall, 9-2 in the ultra-competitive Coast, heading into the final three matches of the regular season.

Viking 2's Amelie Moya/Taylor Vales and 4's Rowynn Funk/Maggie Carroll had big wins in the opener against CSM (5-12, 3-8). In the late match against De Anza (7-12, 5-7), every line but the 5's, a win by WVC's Francesca Zanotti/Emma Landaverde, went the three-set distance.

The Vikings take on Monterey Peninsula (11-5, 8-3) and Hartnell (10-8, 6-5) in two key matches Friday (4/12) at Main Beach in Santa Cruz. First serve is 10:00am.
