On March 12, sophomore outfielder Tyler Schrader ripped a single up the middle to score sophomore Kyle Riveron and give West Valley a wild 6-5 walkoff win over Chabot. No one, including seventeen Viking sophomores, knew that West Valley's 10th win in 13 games would be the season finale at Valhalla. 

The seventeen second-year players mixed with an equal number of freshman to lift the 2020 Vikings to a 12-10 overall record that included a seven-game winning streak from Feb. 20 through March 5. A 3-2 Coast-North mark had Coach Rick Wiens' squad two games out of first.
