West Valley bats were alive and well in a pair of wins last week over Monterey Peninsula and 2022 state runner-up Ohlone. The Vikings (6-9) close out their non-conference schedule this week with games against De Anza (3-7), Hartnell (3/9), and Mission (3/11).

WVC pounded out 12 productive hits in their 14-8 win over MPC (9-8). Andre Butler was 4-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBI, while Anthony Cortese finished 3-4 with three RBI and Andrew Wilford went 2-5 with two RBI. Dillon Haftorson kept the Lobos off the board in six innings of work to earn the pitching win. Haftorson struck out five and scattered five hits.

The Vikings held off Ohlone (7-6) 9-7 Thursday, thanks to 15 hits. Wilford had a torrid 4-6, two double, two RBI outing. Dylan McKee and Ryan Lordier had three hits apiece, and Ryan Choi had two. Roman Connolly picked the pitching win with four Ks in seven innings.
