The West Valley basketball team captured the 2020 Coast-South championship with one of the youngest squads in the CCCAA. But, three sophomores - Adam Acevedo, Devon Banks and Ryan Hewitt - provided a solid core for the 2020 champions. Acevedo, Banks and Hewitt were relentless defenders, tenacious rebounders and opportunistic scorers. Acevedo averaged just under 15 points and 14 rebounds-per 40 minutes, while Hewitt recorded 5.3 points-per-game and 3.6 rebounds-per-game in his two years in Saratoga. Banks, regarded by many as the top defensive guard in the Coast, notched 5.6 PPG, 3.8 RPG and 2.2 assists-per-game on his way to All-Coast 2nd Team honors in 2020.
