When Dylan Woodhouse played for coach Willo Rodriguez and the West Valley Vikings in 2017 and 2018, he teamed with Marko Kruska to form one of the top goalkeeping tandems in CCCAA history. Woodhouse was a part of two Coast Conference and NorCal championship teams with the Vikings. In 2017, West Valley finished fourth in the state and, in 2018, the Vikings brought home the third-place trophy with a thrilling 12-10 win over Coast rival Merced. That championship pedigree followed Woodhouse to Whittier College in southern California in 2019.

The Poets won their first-ever 2019 NCAA DIII national championship with an intense 5-3 win over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rival Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Dec. 8. Woodhouse again got to hoist some championship hardware, but it was a week in October that will be equally memorable for the junior from Harare, Zimbabwe.

The SCIAC selected Woodhouse as its Men's Water Polo Defensive Athlete of the Week in late October after he lifted the Poets to a pair of conference wins. In an 18-8 win over La Verne on 10/23, Woodhouse had 11 saves and a steal. He followed that up three days later with a nine-save, two-steal outing in an 11-8 victory over Cal Lutheran that kept the Poets unbeaten in the SCIAC.

Woodhouse was undefeated in goal in his West Valley career, going 11-0 with 79 saves and a 64.2 save %. In 2017, he surrendered no goals in ten quarters of work behind first team All-American Kruska. He returns for his senior season at Whittier in 2020 and the Poets are poised to repeat as they welcome back 23 players from their 27-man 2019 NCAA championship roster.
