The West Valley softball team scored all the runs it would need in the first inning as the Vikings picked up their seventh straight win Saturday at The Park. The 8-0 five-inning shutout of Mission improved the West Valley to 18-12 overall, 4-7 in the Coast-South with two key league games coming up this week. Sierra Hillman's two-run double keyed the eight-run first as the Vikings pounded out five hits. Maricela Matos stayed hot with a 2-3, one RBI outing, and Mya Galindo had an RBI double. Ava Gonzales (3 innings pitched, six strikeouts) and Alexis Palmon (2IP, 2 K's) combined on the second Viking no-hitter of the season. West Valley hosts San Jose City (26-4, 9-1 Coast-South) Tuesday (4/9) and Monterey Peninsula (26-3, 8-2) Thursday (4/11). Both games start at 3:00pm.
