West Valley gave up a 2nd-inning run to last place Ohlone and took it personally, especially Andrea DeJesus, Ella Moser and Alina Perez. Those three Vikings exploded for a combined six hits and 11 RBI the next three innings to lead WVC to a 12-3 five-inning rout of the Renegades.

After surrendering the two-out score to Ohlone (9-10, 0-4 Coast), the Vikings (27-1, 4-0) mounted their own two-out rally in the home half of the 2nd. Moser and Makayla Villapando singled, and Perez loaded the bases on an E5. Tyla Arbuckle singled in Moser and then DeJesus cleared the bases with a triple to the scoreboard. The Vikings were up 4-1 and never looked back.

Two-run doubles from Moser and DeJesus highlighted a five-run 3rd and Perez smashed a three-run triple to right that brought home, in order, Marissa Rodriguez, Moser and Alexis Bojorquez-Nava and gave the Vikings a 12-2 lead. The Renegades countered with a too-little-too-late run in the top of the 5th, but Sarah Habkirk struck out Mahliyah Ortiz-Lucero to send everyone home a couple innings early.

Moser ended the day 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. DeJesus went 2-for-3 and her five RBI gave her a state-best 39 on the year. Brianna Chambers Lee also had a pair of hits, as did Arbuckle, who also swiped two more bases to increase her state-leading total to 39. Habkirk improved to 5-0 with the win in the circle.

The Vikings head over the hill Thursday (3/20) to take on Cabrillo (2-20-1, 0-4). First pitch is 3:00pm.
