The West Valley women's soccer team jumped back into the top spot in the Coast-South Conference with a 4-2 win at Skyline Tuesday. The Vikings (10-3-4, 5-2-1 Coast-South) came alive after a scoreless first half to take a 3-0 over the Trojans (6-7-2, 3-4-0 Coast-North) 15 minutes into second stanza. Alex Spatola opened the scoring in the 47th minute off a Melanie Asquith assist. Payton Stauble found the back of the net at 50' for her first career Viking goal. Spatola converted a Drew Bozarth find at 60' for the 3-0 Viking advantage. Skyline made it 3-1 on a goal just seconds later, but Ashley Wallace redirected an April Lopez pass for her 15th goal of the season and a 4-1 WVC lead that would stick until Skyline scored at the final horn. Samantha Coelho made four saves on the way to her 10th win of the season. The Vikings get a much-needed bye Friday before returning to The Pitch for an important home fixture with CaƱada (8-6-1, 6-0-1 C-N) next Tuesday (10/30). Kickoff is 3:00pm.
