Faridnia Dominates 200 Fly Field for Second 2018 State Title

West Valley swimmer Sayeh Faridnia added her second state title in two days and third in two years with a dominant win in the 200y Butterfly Saturday afternoon at the CCCAA Swimming & Diving State Championships at De Anza College. Faridnia grabbed the lead out of the blocks and was never threatened as she outraced runner-up Rory Nuuhiwa of Sierra 2:08:25 to 2:10:86. The sophomore from Cupertino added the 200 crown to the 100y Butterfly title she won Friday, her second championship win in that event in two years. Vikings Alexandra Ruzsa finished 8th in the 100y Breaststroke (1:09:10) and Jafet Hernandez was 13th in the men's 100y Breaststroke (58:28).
