The West Valley volleyball team picked up its ninth win in ten matches at Monterey Peninsula College Tuesday to secure a share of the Coast Conference-South Division championship.

The 27-25, 25-20, 25-10 sweep of the Lobos was a back-and-forth affair for the first two sets before the Vikings had a pair of six-point runs to pull away in the third set. Hannah Moore landed a pair of aces in the midst of the second third-set run that took the WVC lead from 16-6 to an insurmountable 22-6.

Moore again led the stat tablet with a match-high 13 kills, to go along with five digs. Jaida Ward was dominant from the right side with nine kills, followed by Rene Wash and Aaryan Hashimi with seven each. Della Trimble handed out 29 assists and came up with seven digs. Hannah Reynoso finished with a match-high 12 digs.

West Valley finishes with a 19-8 overall record, 11-2 in the rugged Coast-South. The Vikings, who boast the eight-highest RPI in the north, will find out their playoff opponent, date and time at the NorCal seeding meeting today.
