When the West Valley volleyball team returned for classes a few weeks ago, its regular indoor home for matches and practices (now a fall semester volleyball class) was deemed off limits due to COVID-19.

The 2019 Coast Conference champions, luckily, were able to move their class sessions outside to their state-of-the-art beach facility. Following strict mask and social distancing guidelines, and focusing on individual skill development and conditioning as part of the fall class, Coach Armen Zakarian's Vikings haven't missed a beat in preparing to defend their crown when play is scheduled to resume in early 2021. 

Returners Alex Bergantz, Elia Duenas, Kelly Mahoney, Renee Martin, Hannah Moore, Della Trimble and Jaida Ward recently welcomed to the sand newcomers Camdyn Albrecht, Kate Blackwell, Katie Kishton, Monika Leon, Belen Morgan, Ailish O'Deegan, Sydney Rogers, Taylor Tullo, Alina Valenti and Keilli Voss.
