Trimble signs to play indoor at Whittier College

Viking indoor and beach stalwart Della Trimble has signed to play indoor volleyball at Whittier College, it was recently announced. Trimble was a cornerstone of the 2019 Coast Conference indoor champions her first year in Saratoga and was named to the All-Coast 2nd Team.

"Della is one of the hardest working players ever to wear a Viking uniform," said West Valley Head Coach Armen Zakarian. "It's no surprise she leaves the program as the most decorated setter in my six years with the program."

The 5-9 setter from San Mateo's Aragon High School led the 2019 Vikings with 828 assists, 8.54 assist-per-set, and recorded 163 digs, 36 aces and 41 kills. She is currently teaming with Renee Martin to form a #2 beach pair that notched a pair of straight-set sweeps over Marin in the April 23 home opener.

Zakarian added, "The impact she has left on our indoor and beach programs will be felt for years to come. On behalf of our Viking family, we love you Della! Thanks you for always giving it your absolute all."

Whittier College is an NCAA D3 program located in the Los Angeles area. The Poets were 18-10 in 2019, 10-6 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics Conference, under Chris Duarte-McDermott, who's been the head coach at Whittier since 2013.
