"Texas" returns to home state, signs with NCAA D2 Midwestern State

Hannah Moore has signed to play indoor volleyball with Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX, Viking coach Armen Zakarian recently announced. The 5-10 outside hitter was a key component of the 2019 Coast Conference championship team and a two-year member of the WVC beach volleyball team.

The Amarillo, TX native led the 2019 Vikings with 332 kills, 3.77 kills-per-set and 46 service aces, and was third with 218 digs and 2.48 digs-per-set. She was named to the All-Coast 1st team after her freshman campaign.

"Texas", as she is affectionately known at WVC, is returning to her home state a mere 153 miles from where she grew up.

"Hannah came to West Valley with the goal of improving herself and ultimately transfering back to Texas to play in the NCAA," Zakarian said. "She worked at her craft every day through the ups and downs to earn first-team all-conference honors along with a conference title and, ultimately, reach her goal this year. We are so excited for you, Hannah! Congratulations from your Viking family."

Midwestern State is located northwest of Dallas and is the state's only public institution focused on liberal arts. The NCAA D2 Mustangs play in the 16-team Lone Star Conference, the largest D2 conference in the country. Head Coach Valerie Armstrong will be entering her fourth year in fall 2021.
