Sweep of Rams helps Vikings clinch Coast-South title tie

The West Valley volleyball team clinched at least a tie for their second straight Coast-South Conference championship with a 26-24, 25-13, 25-14 sweep of visiting City College of San Francisco Friday night. The seventh consecutive match win puts the Vikings (11-9, 6-0 Coast South) two matches ahead of second-place Monterey Peninsula (13-5, 4-2) with two matches to play.

Kiana Manson led the Vikings in kills for the third straight match, connecting on 17 swings and a .452 %. Sydney Rogers handed out 19 assists, to go along with four digs and three service aces. Flor Porras came up with 15 digs, four aces and a trio of assists, while Gabrielle Carbonel recorded 16 assists, two aces and four digs. Nunu Saulala had six kills, three digs and three blocks.

The Vikings host Gavilan (5-9, 0-5) Friday (11/11) in the regular season home finale. First serve is 6:30pm.
