
For the second consecutive season, the West Valley women's water polo team swept the Coast Conference tournament championship with three overpowering wins at Las Positas College Friday. Alexandra Ruzsa rifled a game-high eight goals to lead the Vikings (22-6) to an 18-6 win over Foothill in Friday's opener. An 18-5 romp over Cabrillo set up a championship battle with Merced (18-9). Ruzsa again led the way with seven tallies, while Sabrina Esteves had four goals and Emily Fields had five steals and Raquel de Pinho recorded 13 saves in goal. WVC, who went undefeated in 11 Coast contests in 2018, advances to the CCCAA NorCal Championships Nov. 9-10 at the West Valley Aquatic center.
